Yale University honours Macca with Dr degree

Washington (ANI): Sir Paul McCartney has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Yale University. As he walked on stage to accept the degree at the university's graduation ceremony, the band gave a fitting reception, playing 'Hey Jude'. Yale President Richard Levinhe hailed Macca for awakening a generation with his fresh take on "rock, roll, rhythm and blues" and for his charity works. "Here, there and everywhere, you have pushed the boundaries of the familiar to create new classics. We admire your musical genius and your generous support of worthy causes," E! Online quoted him, as saying. This is the second honour that the musician has received. He was knighted by the Queen of England in 1996, and took on the title of Sir Paul.
